Namibia has registered its name in the T20 World Cup for the fourth time in a row after showing dominance in the qualifiers. They defeated Tanzania by 63 runs in the first semi-final of the African World Cup qualifiers. That is how the opportunity to play in the World Cup came.

Batting first in the semi-final held at the Harare Sports Club Ground on Thursday (October 2), Namibia set a challenging score of 174 runs in the allotted 20 overs. In response, Tanzania could not score more than 111 runs for 8 wickets despite playing the full 20 overs.

With that win, Namibia secured its ticket to play in the T20 World Cup for the fourth consecutive time. Previously, they also participated in the 2021, 2022 and 2024 editions. In 2021, the team also showed the achievement of playing in the Super Twelve. This time, they will be seen again in this global tournament to be held in India and Sri Lanka.

Namibia is the 16th team to secure a ticket to this World Cup. The second and last team from this region will come as the winner of the second semi-final match between Zimbabwe and Kenya. The final of the African region qualifiers will be held next Saturday with the winners of these two semi-final teams.

Apart from these two teams from the African continent, South Africa will play directly in the World Cup based on the results of the last World Cup. As the hosts, India and Sri Lanka are the first to confirm the World Cup. In addition, the seven teams that played in the Super Eights of the last edition – Bangladesh, Australia, Afghanistan, England, South Africa, West Indies and the United States – also got a direct place in the World Cup.

Pakistan, New Zealand and Ireland have come based on the ranking. Canada from the Americas region and the Netherlands and Italy from the European region have confirmed the World Cup.
