Futsal Game

Futsal Game

Futsal is a fast-paced version of football, a FIFA-approved 5-player game. It is played on a smaller field, with smaller goalposts, and a smaller, less bouncy ball than regular football, which helps players improve dribbling, quick decision-making, and technical skills.

Futsal Game

Futsal is a shortened form of football, emphasizing ball control and fast play. It is usually played with 5 players. A maximum of 12 players can be used. Players can be substituted as often as they want.

When did it start?

Futsal has been played in various countries around the world since the 1930s.

Field Size
The main difference between futsal and football is the size of the field. Futsal fields are naturally much smaller in length and width than football fields. Futsal fields can range from 27 yards long and 17 yards wide to 42 yards long and 27 yards wide.

Ball and playing time
Futsal fields are usually made of artificial turf or grass. In addition, in some cases, futsal fields are also made of hard surfaces such as vinyl or plastic. Four sizes of balls are used in futsal, weighing from 400 to 440 grams. A break is taken after 20 minutes of a total of 40 minutes of play.

Futsal has some of its own rules. Penalty shots are taken from 6 meters away from the post. If a team commits 6 or more fouls in one half, the opponent gets a penalty. If the goalkeeper does not release the ball within four seconds after catching the ball, the opponent gets a free kick. Just like there is a throw-in in football, there is a kick-in in futsal.

Futsal World Cup
Like football, FIFA is the governing body of futsal. FIFA has been organizing the Futsal World Cup since 1989. The tournament is held every three, four, and five years. The current champion is Brazil. They have won the title the most times, 6 times. And Iran is the most successful Asian futsal champion, winning 13 times.
