Shakira postpones India tour

The excitement about pop star Shakira’s ‘Feeding India Concert’ was high. But that hope was dashed due to the current geopolitical situation. The organizers have decided to postpone Shakira’s India tour for the time being, citing the rising tensions in West Asia and regional unrest.

The organizer, ‘District by Zomato’, issued a statement on Instagram and said, ‘Due to the current geopolitical situation and regional tensions, Shakira’s Feeding India concert has been postponed for the time being. The safety of fans, artists and the production team is important to us.’

The organizers have informed that every ticket holder will get a full refund of the ticket price within five to seven working days. However, this announcement did not calm the fans.

Incidentally, earlier the concert of American rapper Kanye West was also postponed for the same reason. Her concert in Delhi, which was scheduled for March 29, has been postponed to May 23 due to the US-Iran conflict.

Shakira last performed in Mumbai in 2007. After a long 18-19 years, she was scheduled to perform in Mumbai on April 10 and 11 and Delhi on April 15. Shakira herself was also excited about the tour, as there was a noble purpose behind the event. The organizers said that they are trying to announce a new date by talking to the artist’s team.
