While his fans, shocked by the news of Zubin’s death, are going back to their old songs, new news is coming – his dream Assamese film ‘Roi Roy Binale’ is releasing today. The very day he wanted to release it. Fans are emotional on the day of his film’s release. Many have cried while watching the film. There is great enthusiasm among fans in Assam around the release of Zubin’s film. The price of the film’s tickets has increased. However, fans are ignoring everything to see their beloved artist on screen once again.
Popular Assamese director Rajesh Bhuiyan said, ‘This film was very dear to Zubin personally. The story, the tune, the lyrics—everything had his touch.’ Bhuiyan further said, ‘We made the film for three years. Except for the background score, everything was finished. So even after his death, we released the film with the original recording of his voice.’

80 to 90 percent of the dialogues and songs used in the film are Zubin’s own voice, which was recorded on a lapel mic. As a result, the audience will once again hear his unique voice in the theaters—it’s like an emotional return from the screen of life to the screen of death.
As the release date approached, ticket prices suddenly increased in various theaters in Assam and other parts of the country. Local viewers complained that the producer and hall authorities were taking advantage of the emotions surrounding Zubin’s death. ‘If Zubinda was alive, she would not have tolerated this,’ wrote a fan on social media.
However, the organizers said that the technical and security costs have increased to handle the huge interest of the audience. But for the general audience, this explanation has increased anger rather than comfort.
Zubin Garg is a familiar name not only in the Assamese music world, but also in the whole of India. His Bollywood song ‘Ya Ali’ (‘Gangster’, 2006) gave him a new identity across India.
This artist, who sang in more than forty languages, was a rare talent. He sang in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Nepali and various regional languages. He received the National Award for Best Music Direction for the film ‘Echoes of Silence’.
