World Cup theme song ‘Dai Dai’ has been released
The international football governing body (FIFA) has officially announced the name of the song ‘Dai Dai’ as the official theme song of the upcoming 2026 World Cup. The song is sung by Colombian pop star Shakira and Nigerian artist Burna Boy.

FIFA made the announcement in a statement on Friday (May 15). The highest governing body of world football called the song ‘a unique celebration of football, culture and global unity through music’.
With this song, Shakira is returning to football’s biggest stage after more than a decade. Previously, her song ‘Waka Waka’ sung at the 2010 World Cup caused a huge stir around the world, which is still considered one of the best and most memorable songs in the history of the World Cup.
The song ‘Dai Dai’, created in anticipation of the 2026 World Cup, has a wonderful blend of Afrobeats, dance-pop, reggaeton and world beats, which will create a lively and inspiring atmosphere among the listeners. The nearly four-minute song has a motivational message for footballers and football fans around the world.
FIFA confirmed that the song has already been released on the world’s major music streaming platforms. In addition, a portion of the income from the royalties of this song will be donated to the ‘FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund’, which supports the education sector of the underprivileged worldwide.
It is worth noting that the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be held jointly in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
