Morocco has added another chapter to the success story of Arab football. The team that stunned the football world for the first time by reaching the semi-finals of the 2022 Qatar World Cup is celebrating in Qatar again after three years.

The Moroccans won the title by defeating Jordan 3-2 in the FIFA Arab Cup final held at the Lusail Stadium in Doha on Thursday (December 18).
This was Jordan’s first time playing in the Arab Cup final. With a bold and lively performance, they created a tough challenge for Morocco. However, their lack of experience ultimately held them back. Morocco won the dramatic match that went into extra time after the scheduled time.
Oussama Tannane gave Morocco the lead early in the match. Jordan equalized in the 48th minute through Ali Olwan’s header. Later, they took the lead from the penalty spot in the 68th minute. But just before the end of the match, in the 88th minute of regulation, Abderrazzak Hamed Allah scored a goal to send the match into extra time.
He scored again in the 100th minute of extra time to secure Morocco’s victory and give the team an important trophy ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
