He scored a dazzling century on the third day of the third Test against England. This is his second century of the current series.

This is the 11th century of Head’s Test career. With this century, he entered a special list in Australian Test history. The 31-year-old batsman became the fifth player in history to score centuries in four consecutive Tests at the same venue in Australia.

Don Bradman, Sir Wally Hammond, Michael Clarke and Steve Smith were already on that list. Except for Hammond, all the rest of the list are Australians.

Head is unbeaten on 142 runs at the end of the third day of this Test. He is partnered by Alex Carey, who has added 52 runs to his name. Australia took control of the match in both their innings. Australia, who finished the day on 271 for 4, have reduced their lead to 356 runs.

Head scored a century in the opening Test of the ongoing Ashes in Perth. He scored 123 runs off 83 balls in difficult conditions. The innings included 16 fours and four sixes. Australia won that match by eight wickets.

Head has been finding himself since that century. However, he made a great comeback in Adelaide.

Australia are leading the series 2-0. They have won both matches by eight wickets. Even if this Test is drawn, they will retain the Ashes.

Steve Smith is not playing in this match. He has been ruled out due to dizziness. He had led the team in the previous two matches. Pat Cummins was suffering from an injury at the time. This time, Smith was ruled out as soon as Cummins returned.
